Biography
Elaine Seidel grew up in
Chelmsford, Massachusetts, the youngest daughter of 4 children. Her mother
immersed her in a love of books and the natural world. Her father taught her logic and
science. Together they showed
her that all of life is connected.
We must stop and SEE all around
us; above, below, and pull it inside of us.
Trained in all the various fields
of art, Elaine sees images with a variety of influences, architecture,
graphic design, painting, sculpture, etc.
At University, she trained in Political
Science and History while maintaining her computer art and poetry. Her real jobs¹ always have had an
element of art, from design of resumes to admissions marketing materials
and communications and training for IT. Now with her career established in
the particulars of Higher Ed, she has returned to the world of art with
adult eyes.
She has found welcome in the
local art community, and found early success with two book covers and
several exhibits. Two solo
shows are planned for 2007.
Elaine¹s work in both photography
and poetry show rhythm and reflecting her multitude of interests and
athletic endeavors. Her yoga
practice brings a feeling of peace. Her visual pieces have a timeless feel
and her words seem to spring from inside the readers mind. Elaine prizes a
moment captured, a feeling captured with almost an unfinished quality over
too structured an effort. The work is strong but leaves room for the viewer
or reader to be themselves in the work.
